Detalls de l'esdeveniment

Do we abuse ourselves when building a romantic relationship? A mythological creature that straddles German romanticism and Andalusian idiosyncrasy tells you about it.

A couple in a beautiful and romantic landscape, cries tears of pain caused by their love. They are the perfect object of attention for Analphabet, a mythological being or a queer legend imagined by the artist Alberto Cortés, a specialist in speaking, with all the poetry in the world and a little more, about pain, love and sexuality. Here you will meet a couple arguing on an Asturian beach and a romantic spirit who appears to sing them songs, but you will also see a romantic landscape with sexualized bodies (is it a cruising area?) and you will listen to or sing a healing song. It is performed by Analphabet, a symbol of the other, of what is different, of dissident choices. Among other things, Cortés wonders to what extent it is a form of sadomasochism to remain linked to a partner longer than we should be.

Like all of Alberto Cortés’ works, this proposal speaks to us about love and feelings in a completely different way. We already saw this at the Grec 2023 Festival in Barcelona, where the artist presented One night at the Golden Bar. Cortés is a director and playwright born in Malaga and with a degree in Art History, who in 2008 created the company Bajotierra together with the artist Alessandra García, in an experience that marked the beginning of his career. He has been involved in initiatives such as the Malaga alternative scene festival El Quirófano or the Escena Bruta cycle.

From 2013, he began an individual career. He has created productions such as Viva la guerra, Historia de Mikoto, Yo antes era mejor, Hollywood, Masacre en Nebraska and El Ardor. In addition to being part of the Grec programming, in Catalonia we have seen him in the programming of the Sâlmon< Festival d’Arts Vives Contemporànies, at the Terrassa Noves Tendències (TNT) festival, at the ZIP festival of the TNC and at the Centre de les Arts Lliures of the Fundació Joan Brossa.

A production of TNT Terrassa Noves Tendències, Centre de Cultura Contemporània Condeduque, FITEI-Festival Internacional de Teatre d’Expressiono Ibèrica, Centre de las Arts Lliures de Fundació Joan Brossa and Festival Iberoamericano de Teatre de Cádiz.
